Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its result. Dent County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to answer and manage the correspondence. It remains within the site team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server may automatically receive routine technical details about the visit:
- Pages viewed, time spent, and page-view timestamps
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- The internet protocol address assigned to the device
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device to help measure traffic patterns, popular pages, and where visits end. Analytics providers may combine that activity into site-level reports. A browser can block or remove cookies, although doing so may change how some features behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search request to the selected partner
- Maintaining performance and availability
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Measuring which pages are useful or need revision
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Dent County Criminal History does not maintain, combine, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Dent County Sheriff, the Circuit Court, the Missouri State Highway Patrol Central Repository, and the Missouri Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report or a file about another person, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. A partner's privacy policy, retention schedule, and sharing rules govern information entered into its tool. Those practices are outside this site's control, so visitors should read the provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Sheriff, Case.net, Missouri agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. This site does not control that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners that receive a query submitted through their tool
- Advertising networks that place ads on site pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, however, and this site cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. A verified request concerning a minor's submitted information will be handled by deleting that data.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may provide additional rights. Missouri Sunshine Law, Chapter 610, governs records of Missouri public bodies, while RSMo §§43.503 and 43.506 govern criminal-history reporting to the state repository; those public-record laws do not turn this private site into a government custodian. A visitor may still:
- Request deletion of personal data held by this site
- Ask what personal information is on file
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Opt out of processing where that right applies
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as site practices or legal requirements change. The replacement text will appear here and will carry a revised effective date.
